A historic building located on Dien Bien Phu Street. Part of land on which the building sits has been sold and developed, cutting the building in half. But some history remains.

The company whose office was located here on 48 Nguyễn Đình Chiểu was Brossard & Mopin (l’entreprise Brossard et Mopin). They were responsible for building the new central market in 1914. We know it today as Ben Thanh Market. They also built many notable buildings & projects around Indochina, China & Singapore.

The building is now home to the Vietnam Sport Newspaper.

The current Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange started as the French Administration’s Chamber of Commerce and later became a conference hall, “Hội trường Diên Hồng.” It also served as the location for the senate of the Republic of Vietnam.

This big house is located on the corner of Nguyen Van Thu Street and Binh Dong Street, District 8, near the Tau Hu canal. There are many big houses like this in District 8; they face the houses in Districts 5 and 6 on the other side of the canal.

This building is being used as the People’s Committee Office of Ward 13, District 5. The house looks new and in good condition compared to the other old houses in the same area. It is painted every year.
